Junior DevOps Engineer (m/f)

The Shared Service Department is responsible for the central, highly available platforms which are used by all Gameforge games. You will work in a dynamic and motivated team in which you will be responsible for technical configuration management, among other things. You have the chance to join us as Junior DevOps Engineer with joy and enthusiasm and to help shape our systems.

Tasks to inspire:

  • Risk-oriented operation of applications based on the Linux-based infrastructure of the payment system with special attention to applications and processes to guarantee our players a trouble-free gaming experience
  • Technical configuration management and release management
  • Development of sustainable strategies and quick solutions (repair scripts, hotfixes, etc.)
  • Definition and further development of monitoring and surveillance systems
  • Coordination and communication in processes, technical problems and emergencies
  • On-call duty to ensure system availability

Qualifications to convince:

  • Ideally a degree in computer science or a comparable education (e.g. as IT specialist)
  • Knowledge of written and spoken English
  • Experience in object-oriented development of web applications, ideally in PHP7
  • First experience with Linux-based systems, ideally Ubuntu and experience with LAMP environments
  • Knowledge of SQL, ideally experience with MySQL
  • First experience with the Shell and desire to find optimal solutions through experiments
  • Ability to work even under time pressure or in case of system malfunctions
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn new tools, technologies, but also existing code
  • Conceptual strength, high analytical capability and a systematic, careful and risk-conscious way of working
  • Distinct ability to communicate and work in a team
