Karlsruhe, 27.06.2013 – Gameforge today announces that fantasy MMO AION will be available in three more language versions from the 31st of July 2013. The existing German, English and French versions will be joined by Spanish, Italian and Polish versions. In addition, a Turkish game client will be released in September.
Aside from fully localised audio, adapted websites and forums, individual country support as well as community management, there will be servers available in the corresponding native languages for the new language versions. So those preferring to experience adventures with fellow players in their mother tongue will find a suitable playing field here. However, the servers remain independent of the game client: those using the Italian client to read mission texts and displays in their native language, for example, can still continue playing on an English server.
“Our aim is to make AION available to all players cross-nationally- in the best possible quality for a best possible gaming experience. Thanks to the additional language versions, more players will have the opportunity to play AION in their own language in future and immerse themselves further into the world of Atreia”, said Volker Boenigk, Executive Product Director for AION at Gameforge.
4.0 is coming: microsite supplies further information
In preparation for the upcoming 4.0 expansion, which will be released in August, Gameforge is providing a new microsite with additional information about the update. This will be available in various languages and gives AION fans an insight into what they can look forward to this year with trailers, class and skill descriptions as well as upcoming overviews of regions and instances. The microsite can be reached via the following link: http://update.aionfreetoplay.com
AION Free-to-Play: a growing and prospering game world
Since the launch of AION’s free version, over 2.7 million new accounts have been registered: currently over 3.5 million players are roaming the world of Atreia. Gameforge opened four additional game servers shortly after its release, to provide these players with plenty of space. Version 3.0, AION’s most extensive update yet, enhanced the game with new content such as housing, the weather system, new jobs and mounts. Update 3.5 focussed on additional content for high-level PvE and PvP players, while the current version 3.9 brought beginner and instance servers to Atreia.
AION is Asian premium game development studio NCsoft®’s most successful MMO game and remains one of the most popular titles in South Korea. Millions of players all over the world populate the lands and territories of the fantasy world of Atreia. The game has been continually expanded and enhanced with countless updates. Aside from numerous features and functions, this includes standards of the MMO genre such as new instances, interesting reward systems and better level opportunities through quests and innovations. These innovations include the mentor system, where experienced players help out beginners and both sides benefit. AION has been free-to-play since the 29th February 2012, allowing players to experience the game in its entirety for free.
