To Gameforge Employees & Partners,
When we look back over 2017, it will be remembered as the most important year in Gameforge’s recent history. It is the year in which the business started to grow again. The year in which we, through our focused efforts, managed a successful turnaround of the company. With the support of our talented studio partners, our mutual dedication, cooperation and hard work paid off.
In 2017, we not only brought our costs in better alignment with our revenues, we meaningfully grew both our topline revenue and profit margin over 2016. The holiday season performance was particularly exceptional, among the best December revenue totals in the last ten years. In 2018, we expect this trend to continue, bolstered by a variety of strategic initiatives.
We also managed to re-ignite nearly every game in our portfolio, leveraging activities such as successful Steam-releases for our MMOs like NosTale and Metin2 and great updates in titles like AION and TERA. Across the portfolio, we brought in new players, reactivated returning players and achieved great success together by substantially increasing playtime year over year. In 2018, we will continue to build on our efforts by releasing a number of high profile PC games, including the highly anticipated Anime MMO, SoulWorker.
In 2017, we optimized our organizational structure, ensuring a more efficient way to reach and execute decisions quickly. We got better, faster and stronger. In 2018, we will continue to reap the fruits of this infrastructure and expand the teams in many parts of the company again.
In 2017, we laid the foundation for a long-term, sustainable future for Gameforge. We brought the company to a position of financial strength and furthered our commitment to a transparent, performance based company culture. We wish to thank everyone for their support, dedication and trust in us. We have much more to do together in 2018. The best is yet to come.
Happy New Year!
