Karlsruhe, 04/07/2013 – Gameforge is today releasing a new expansion for the successful fantasy MMO, TERA, called the Corsairs’ Stronghold. This is the largest update since the conversion to free-to-play in February and will integrate a 20 vs 20 battlefield upon which players can enjoy multiplayer battles with powerful siege weapons. TERA fans can look forward to several other highlights this summer including the Alliance System, new dungeons and eventful in-game festivals.
Spectacular Multi-Player Battles with Cannons, Tanks and Airships
The new battlefield, the Corsairs’ Stronghold, is the largest instanced PvP area to date in TERA. Two groups each with 20 players come together for action-packed siege wars. One team acts as the defender and protects thr crystal hidden inside the stronghold. The attacking team has to storm the stronghold, defeat the defenders and finally destroy the crystal. The siege party has many ways of reaching their goal: they can carry out frontal attacks on the gates, climb over the stronghold walls with ladders or board zeppelins enabling them to attack the opposing bastion from the air. Both attackers and defenders possess mighty long-distance weapons such as tanks and cannons which make each battle a spectacular PvP experience.
Matchmaking System and Equal Chances on the Battlefield
The Corsairs’ Stronghold is already open to players from level 30 – all PvP warriors will, however, be automatically raised to the maximum level of 60 for the battle. Special battlefield equipment, balanced in its strength, provides equal chances and long-term playing fun. Thanks to the matchmaking system, players who sign up for a party can easily find a suitable group.
Alliance Update, New Dungeons and Summer of Festivals
TERA fans can look forward to even more highlights this summer. Such as the eagerly awaited Alliance System, further development of the Political System, and guilds being given the opportunity to join one of the three alliances. You battle against the other alliances to gain dominance of the game servers as well as valuable new resources. PvE players too can look forward to new dungeons which will be introduced into the game in the near future.
Furthermore, three different festivals full of crazy ideas and attractive prizes will provide variety in Arborea. The summer festivals are entwined in small back stories and allow players to kit out their characters in fashionable new swimsuits perfect for the time of year.
