TRUST
We trust one another. This is illustrated in how we handle our flexible working hours and other freedoms. We expect you to reflect this trust by completing your work diligently and meeting your agreed deadlines. Be realistic when judging your own abilities and have confidence in the abilities of your colleagues.
INDEPENDENCE
Gameforge as a company intends to remain independent of external forces – we want to make great games without being financially dependent. We also endeavour to reflect this independence in our everyday work. We have clear rules and processes, but we are always open to improvements – you can and should develop your own methods for solving problems. You can shape your work spaces, both physical and digital, to suit your wishes. We have no dress code: we all have our own style.
TRANSPARENCY
We share our results, our progress and our goals. We acknowledge our own abilities and limits, we communicate openly with one another and we are always open to new ideas. The loudest voice isn’t always the smartest choice: we promote a culture of direct and open communication so we can find the very best ideas, not the loudest ones. We pass on relevant information to those who need it and we are able to obtain information quickly when we need it. Write up your decisions, use direct forms of communication and always pay attention to the relevant points of contact.
RESPONSIBILITY
We want everyone to enjoy taking on responsibility. We include everyone affected in the decisions we make and document processes as well as their results, both good and bad. We talk about problems – even ones outside our spheres of responsibility – and encourage a culture where we learn from our mistakes. We take problems addressed seriously and expect that you speak out if there is something that you disagree with. You are not only responsible for your area of work, but should feel that you are an integral part of Gameforge as a single entity. Support and document your decisions and be a part of the whole, both enjoying and caring about what you are doing. And have no fear: mistakes make us wiser – provided you acknowledge and learn from them. This is the attitude we promote.
ENTHUSIASM
We are proud of our work, our games and our culture. We foster an atmosphere where it is fun to reach ambitious goals together. Our ‘playgrounds’ like the Game Jam, the chillout area, regular events and direct communication help to generate an atmosphere where everyone can bring their knowledge and wisdom to bear. ‘Come in and play!’ We want to see you playing games and talking to your colleagues about them. Don’t just develop your games. Test them, play them, engage with them constructively. We want to be a company which offers you more than just a workplace. We offer food, leisure activities and after-work beer. We don’t just organise events, we create an environment where colleagues can become friends.
RESPECT
Respectful behaviour is very important to us. We arrive to appointments prepared and on time, we greet one another and we behave in a polite manner. We make decisions when those responsible are present and process customer questions politely and efficiently. Hello, goodbye, please and thank you are all part of a Gameforge employee’s daily vocabulary. We respect our fellow employees’ time and we remain fair and on topic in even the most difficult discussions. We respect the opinions of our colleagues, even if we do not share them.
INTEGRITY
We not only say what we think, we also let our words and deeds speak for us. We are true to ourselves and we aim for every one of us to be a role model for others. If we make a commitment, we make sure it is completed. If we promise something, then we work hard to make sure this promise is kept. Every employee should constantly be trying to be the best version of themselves, by working towards our shared goals in an honest, authentic and passionate manner.
